How To Manage Your Sales While Selling On ebay
First of all you need to customize your “ My eBay” page in order to display the most important information related to managing your sales. Please go now to my eBay and follow my screenshots:

On the right hand side of the page click general settings as shown above:
From the dropdown menu, select summary page as your default “ My eBay” Page and then click apply. Now after you set your general settings to Summary page, everytime you go to my eBay, you will be directed to this summary page.
For an ebay seller, the section of selling reminders is the most important. Through this section, you will be able to see which items are paid for and you have to ship, which items are awaiting payment, which of your listings are ending today and a lot of other things which are important for anyone selling on ebay. This will be discussed later on.
Now its time to adjust your notification prefernces to receive notification of sales.. How?? Just go to “ My eBay” and click account and then click notification preferences as shown below.
After you reach selling activity, click show as shown above and you will be directed to this page;
Go to the section of item sold and from the drop down menu choose real time and then click save. Now everytime you get a sale, you will receive an email notification of this sale.
Note: Please Set your notification preferences before listing your items.
This is how a notification email of sale from ebay will look like:
One of the good things about this notification emails is that you can manage your sales through them. After you receive the email, you can just click send invoice as shown above. After the buyer receives his invoice, he will pay you and then you can ship his product.
How to manage your sales through My eBay? Please go to “ My eBay” and follow my snapshots below. Since you adjusted your general settings to summary view as shown in the top of this page, everytime you go to my eBay, you will be directed to this view.
If the buyer has not paid yet, you will find " I am awaiting payment for 1 item" as shown above. If you click "1 item" , you will be directed to the sold ebay listing. Some buyers pay immediately after the auction ends, so when you go and check, you will find "I need to ship 1 item" which means that payment for this item is clear and you are ready to ship. You will also find the same thing "I need to ship 1 item" with fixed price listings in which you requested immediate payment for your listing [Click here to remember ].
Now let us assume that the buyer has not paid yet.. " I am awaiting payment for 1 item" will show. Just click 1 item and you will be directed to the sold ebay listing as shown below:
The sold item will be shown, the buyer user ID will be displayed, the quantity sold is also there and the price and date of sale is displayed. Now its time to collect payment for this item. On the right hand side of the view above, you will find a dropdown menu [not shown above], please open this dropdown menu as shown in the picture below:
You will find send invoice, just click it to send an invoice for the buyer to pay. You will also find contact buyer which you can click if you want to ask the buyer any question about this purchase.
Now you have sent the buyer an invoice. You will be waiting for payment of this item. If your buyer pays, you will receive an email notification of payment from paypal. This is how your mail box will look like when you receive payment notifications.
When you open payment notification emails, this is how they will look like from inside:
In the paypal notification email, you will find the date of transaction, the buyer's name, ebay user ID and email. Shipping address will also be there. Now you received the payment for this item, you need to go back to “ My eBay” to ship this item. Follow my screen shots:
Now after the buyer pays you, the item will appear as " I need to ship 1 item". This means that your buyer has paid and you are ready to ship now. Click 1 item to see which item is ready to ship.[ If you received 2 payments for 2 different items, it will appear " I need to ship 2 items" and so on].
When you click “ Ship 1 Item”, you will be directed to the sold item which is already paid by the buyer. You can then view order details and see the shipping address. Lets go to the next snapshot:
From the dropdown menu on the right side, click view order details..Now you will be directed to the order details page. In this page you will be able to see the item sold, the quantity sold, selling price, buyer shipping address and you can print a shipping label. Take a look below:
Buyer's nme and shipping address will be displayed here..You should collect or print this information and prepare your package and ship it to your customer.
Very Important Tip: Always confirm the shipping address in the order details page with the buyer’s address you receive it on the paypal notification email [see above]. This is very important. If you find them different, please contact the buyer before shipping to confirm the shipping address. This will save you time, effort and money.
Now after you ship your item, go back to the order details page and click on the dropdown menu and click mark the item shipped as shown below:
When you click mark your item shipped, the item will disappear from the items list that prompts you to ship your product. Now you need to leave a feedback for your buyer.
