How To Build A Positive Feedback On ebay

Whenever you buy or sell something, eBay asks that you leave Feedback about the transaction that reflects your experience with the buyer as a seller. At the same time, your trading partner [ buyer in this case] is asked to leave Feedback about you as well.

Over time, members of the eBay community develop a Feedback Profile, or reputation, based on the comments and ratings left by other members.

The Feedback Score is one of the most important pieces of a Feedback Profile. It’s the number in parentheses next to a member’s user ID and it’s also located at the top of the member’s Feedback Profile.

How can you see your feedback score??

Your  Feedback score is just located next to your user Id. Take a look on this screenshot:

There is a lot of tabs above the feedback comments.. You can view your feedback as a seller, as a buyer or you can view all feedback together.

How can you leave a feedback to your Buyer??

Just go to My ebay, and click account and then click feedback as shown in this shot below:

Now you will be directed to the shot below..Just click leave feedback:

Make sure before you leave a feedback for an item that this item has been paid for by the buyer. When you go to this page, you will find many of your sold items. Pick the ones which are paid for and leave your feedback. Follow the following screenshot exactly:

 

How to keep your reputation and feedback positive:

 

If you are planning  to leave your  8-5 job and sell on ebay full time on eBay, it is very important to have excellent seller reputation and 100% positive feedback.. Your eBay "Feedback Rating" is the most important thing. Through a positive feedback, you will become a powerseller, the search standard for your listings will be raised always, and the customers will trust you.“Your Feedback is your Payback” 

 

Before you think of yourself as a seller, think as a buyer for a minute. If you are shopping on eBay for a digital camera and you find 2 sellers selling it, one has a feedback rating of 96% and the other 100%. Whom you are going to buy from. I think you answered the question. The one with 100% for sure.

 

If you unfortunately get a single negative feedback, this will affect your sales for sometime markedly. Imagine Multiple negative feedback comments. Sometimes neutral feedback comments will affect your sales even. Try to communicate with your buyer about a negative feedback. Solve his problem and you can send a request through eBay to the buyer to remove this feedback. The best thing is to completely avoid having a negative feedback.

 

One important thing before you start your business, is to always make sure that you are ready to take care of it. Having a  positive feedback from your customers is Not a hard Job and it starts even before the sale is done:

  1. Always answer the questions of potential buyers rapidly and perfectly. Don't get bored by questions. Think of yourself buying something in a big store. You are expecting answers from the people there and this what will bring you back to this store again and again. 
  2. Communication before a sale builds a trust with your customers.The buyer will believe that he will be buying from an ebay seller who is always there, who answers buyers and non buyers. 
  3. When a sale is done, try to send an email thanking the buyer for his purchase.
  4. Always keep your eBay listing description and pictures very informative and accurate. This is very importnt in building trust to your business.
  5. Ship your products fast.
  6. Always send a tracking number of your package.
  7. If your buyer complains about the product he bought, always be ready to refund [think of yourself as Walmart, returns are easy].  

The higher your Positive feedback, the more you will sell: Having a large number of positive feedback comments not only creates more sales, but it allows you to raise your price. Also your feedback will affect the search standing of your listing on eBay and may help to qualify you for powerseller discounts.

 

I think at this stage of learning, You can:

  1. Register for eBay and paypal.
  2. List an item for Sale in auction or Fixed Format.
  3. Manage your sales.
  4. Leave Feedback for your Buyer.

 

Just go to My eBay, and click account to check your balance as shown below:

 

 

Now you will be directed to this page where you can pay your selling fees using paypal or your credit card:

 

 

I personally prefer to pay with my credit card [I will tell you why later on !!]. After you click pay with your credit card, you will be directed to the next page.

 

 

You will be asked to sign to your ebay account one more time, please write your user ID and password and then sign in:

 

 

Now put your card information and confirm the payment amount and click continue as shown above..you will then receive a confirmation of payment as shown below.

 

 

What should you start doing right now?

 

  1. At this stage, I think you have enough knowledge to sell on ebay using auction and fixed price format.
  2. Start building a feedback over eBay through buying your needed items on eBay. This will help you to meet the requirements for fixed price format. Buyers are usually not interested to know whether your feedback is from buyers or sellers. They are interested in sellers with 100% Feedback.
  3. Every time you buy something on eBay, always contact the seller to leave you a positive feedback. Each feedback you receive will help to grow your business for sure.
  4. Start selling used items around your house.
  5. Look for garage sales. Buy valuable items at low price. Those who are selling on garage sales are exposing items to the neighbors [few]. They are not expecting much. When you buy valuable items at low price and sell it on eBay, you are exposing these items to the 50 states not to the neighborhood.
  6. Start looking for wholesalers, buy items in wholesale and sell it individually on eBay. I will have a full tutorial about wholesale and dropshipping.
